Đak Ba Hydropower Project (Sơn Tây District, Quảng Ngãi Province) is a diversion-type hydropower development with a long tunnel. VCE prepared the shop drawings and provided supervision. The project was completed and began generating electricity in 2022.
The project is located on the Đăk Ba Stream. The main reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 0.784 million m³, impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 24.5 m high, with a 48 m wide overflow spillway.
The water conveyance system on the left bank comprises an intake structure and a headrace tunnel 7874.4 m long, with clear dimensions B × H = 3.2 × 3.2 m. No surge tank is provided.
The diversion-type powerhouse contains 02 Pelton turbine units, with an installed capacity of 30 MW and average annual generation of 98.78 million kWh. Rated head: Htt = 328.75 m; rated discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 12.7 m³/s.
