Nậm Xí Lùng 2A Hydropower Project (Mường Tè District, Lai Châu Province) is a diversion-type hydropower plant. The project began generating electricity in 2025.
The headworks dam on the Nậm Xí Lùng Stream is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of approximately 34.4 m. The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 0.245 million m³. The overflow spillway is 50 m wide.
The water conveyance system on the right bank comprises an intake structure; a headrace tunnel with D = 4 m and a length of 3088 m; and a penstock with a diameter varying from 3.0 to 2.6 m and a length of 125.2 m.
The powerhouse contains 02 horizontal-shaft Francis turbine units, with a total installed capacity of 29.65 MW and average annual generation of 94.79 million kWh. Maximum generating head: Hmax = 143.8 m; maximum design discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 22.59 m³/s.
