Nậm Xí Lùng 2 Hydropower Project (Mường Tè District, Lai Châu Province) is a diversion-type hydropower plant. The project began generating electricity in 2025.
The headworks dam on the Nậm Xí Lùng Stream is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of approximately 50 m. The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 1.5 million m³. The overflow spillway is 50 m wide.
The water conveyance system on the right bank comprises an intake structure and a headrace tunnel with D = 3.0 m and a length of 1800.5 m.
The powerhouse contains 02 horizontal-shaft Francis turbine units, with a total installed capacity of 29 MW and average annual generation of 89.99 million kWh. Maximum generating head: Hmax = 167.6 m; maximum design discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 19.83 m³/s.
