Bình Long Hydropower Project (Hòa An District, Cao Bằng Province) has a powerhouse downstream of the dam on the Rẻ Dào Stream, designed directly by VCE. The project was completed and began generating electricity in 2022.
The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 2.22 million m³, impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 20.5 m high. The spillway has 03 bays fitted with flat gates, each 10 m wide.
There are 2 separate intakes for the two generating units on the right bank, with B × H = 6.9 × 3.5 m. There are 2 penstocks delivering water directly to the 2 generating units, each with B × H = 6.9 × 3.5 m and a length of 13.2 m.
The powerhouse contains 02 vertical-shaft Kaplan turbine units, with a total installed capacity of 6.5 MW and average annual generation of 20.9 million kWh. Rated head: Htt = 16.36 m; rated discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 54.34 m³/s.
