Thác Cá 2 Hydropower Project (Văn Yên District, Yên Bái Province) is a dam-integrated hydropower plant on the Ngòi Thia River, designed directly by VCE. The project was completed and began generating electricity in 2021.
The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 4.8 million m³, impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 34.5 m high. The spillway has 05 gated bays, each 12 m wide. The powerhouse contains 01 bulb turbine unit (Capsule), with an installed capacity of 14.5 MW and average annual generation of 49.75 million kWh. Rated head: Htt = 11.8 m; rated discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 140 m³/s.
