Hương Sơn 2 Hydropower Project (Hương Sơn District, Hà Tĩnh Province) is a diversion-type hydropower plant for which VCE provided design and supervision services. The project began generating electricity in late 2024.
The headworks dam on the Nậm Chốt Stream is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of approximately 21.5 m. The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 0.12 million m³. The overflow spillway is approximately 55 m wide.
The water conveyance system on the left bank comprises an intake structure and a headrace tunnel with D = 3.5 m and a length of 1608 m.
The powerhouse contains 02 horizontal-shaft Francis turbine units, with a total installed capacity of 6.4 MW and average annual generation of 19.9 million kWh. Maximum generating head: Hmax = 85.4 m; maximum design discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 9 m³/s.
