Đồng Sung Hydropower Project (Văn Yên District, Yên Bái Province) has the largest clear tunnel diameter among the hydropower projects designed by VCE (D = 7.5 m, L = 814.4 m). The project was completed and began generating electricity in 2021.
The project is located on the Ngòi Thia River. The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 6.0 million m³, impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 31.5 m high. The spillway has 06 bays fitted with flat gates, each 12 m wide.
The diversion-type powerhouse contains 01 bulb turbine unit (Capsule), with an installed capacity of 20 MW and average annual generation of 64.2 million kWh. Rated head: Htt = 16 m; rated discharge through the generating units: Qmax = 143 m³/s.
