Vĩnh Sơn 4 Hydropower Plant (Vĩnh Thạnh District, Bình Định Province): This is a hydropower plant with a powerhouse located downstream of the dam. The project is under construction.
The main dam is built on the Côn River. It is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of approximately 58.4 m. The reservoir has a storage capacity of approximately 21.765 million m3. The spillway comprises 04 radial-gated bays, each 12 m wide, and 01 overflow spillway bay, 10 m wide.
There are 2 intake structures on the right bank, followed by 02 penstocks that convey water directly to the 2 generating units. The steel penstocks are encased in a 1 m thick layer of M250 reinforced concrete. The penstock diameter is D=3 m. The length from the intake structure to the powerhouse is 64.85 m.
The powerhouse contains 02 vertical-shaft Francis turbine units with a total installed capacity of 18 MW, producing an average of 63.924 million kWh per year. The maximum generating head is Hmax=50.3 m, and the maximum design discharge through the generating units is Qmax=50.74 m3/s.
