Nậm Công 4 Hydropower Plant is located on Nậm Công Stream in Huổi Một Commune, Sông Mã District, Sơn La Province. Its reservoir, with a storage capacity of approximately 0.34 million m³, is impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 19 m high, with a 65 m wide overflow spillway. The water conveyance system on the right bank comprises an intake structure; an open-channel headrace, B×H=3.4×4.5 m, 3250 m long; a forebay designed for Qmax=25.99 m³/s, measuring 8.0×8.3 m with a length of L=50 m and a 20 m long transition from the channel; and a penstock 2.5 m in diameter and 97.65 m long. The Nậm Công 4 plant has 02 generating units with a total installed capacity of 10 MW and average annual generation of E0=39.234 million kWh.
VCE prepared the design and shop drawings for the project. The plant has been in operation since 2009.
