Nậm Công 3 Hydropower Plant is located on Nậm Công Stream in Huổi Một Commune, Sông Mã District, Sơn La Province. Its reservoir, with a storage capacity of approximately 0.53 million m³, is impounded by a concrete gravity dam approximately 22.6 m high, with an 80 m wide overflow spillway. The water conveyance system on the right bank comprises an intake structure; a circular headrace tunnel, D=3.0 m in diameter and 1545 m long; and an open surge tank, D=10 m in diameter and 29 m high. The Nậm Công 3 plant has 02 generating units with a total installed capacity of N=8 MW and average annual generation of Eo=33.2 million kWh.
VCE prepared the design and shop drawings for the project. The plant has been in operation since 2010.
